Overtitrated: the anolyte contains an
excess of iodine
Neither of the two abort parameters
t(max) and drift stop is defined
Error in the preamplifier
10.2 Other malfunctions
Fault
Instrument can not
be switched on
Malfunctions of
the stirrer
Possible causes
No line voltage
Power cable not connected
Fuses faulty
Stirrer speed set to 0
Measures
Check power cable, on/off switch, voltage
selector and fuses
Check stirring speed (stirrer key and size
of the magnetic stirrer (35 mm)
Measures
Change anolyte
Set capacity of the anolyte to 0 (see
Section 8.1)
Change catholyte
Set capacity of the catholyte to 0 (see
Section 8.1)
Check anolyte and catholyte
Check supply leads of cathode and
anode
Plug in electrode correctly
Rectify short circuit (align platinum pins
correctly)
Change catholyte, inject smaller amount
of sample
• Clean anode
• Protect instrument against direct
sunlight
Define either t(max), the drift stop or
both parameters
